How to connect ELD device?
August 27, 2024
Hi, I'm Nick, and today I'm going to show you how to connect your ELD hardware with the First ELD mobile app. Let's get started! First, make sure your truck is turned off. Then, locate the diagnostic port, which will either be a round 9-pin or a square 16-pin connector. Insert the ELD device and turn it clockwise until it's securely in place. You should see the LED light on the device start blinking. Next, download the "FIRST ELD" mobile app on your smartphone or tablet. Once installed, open the app and log in using the credentials provided by your fleet manager. Tap the Bluetooth icon located at the top left corner of the screen. When prompted, tap "Continue" to grant location permission. Now, select your vehicle from the list that appears. Then, choose the closest available ELD device from the options. Once you're connected, the Bluetooth icon at the top left corner will turn green, indicating that your truck is successfully connected and ready for the road!
